A beautiful, substantial fob, this carnelian example in 9ct possesses 19th century symbolism with a decidedly 20th century shape. A heart seems to fly atop the construction of the fob, perhaps implying letter writing to keep one’s heart aloft, for we must remember that fobs have always been used to seal letters and offer the owners identity by way of inscription. The plot thickens as this fob is uninscribed! Waiting for her next owner to add their initials and/or symbol of choice!
