An outstanding and exceedingly rare Renaissance Revival cameo, carved in the most sumptuous dusty rose chalcedony. I've had the pleasure of handling many cameos that embody revivalist principals of the third quarter of the 19th c-- but this one with her matte finish'd skin and beautiful jewelry is a cut above. Truly an example of nature harnessed in the hands of a skilled artisan to create a work of decorative, wearable art in miniature.
