Shipping policy

 

We offer both domestic and international shipping. Our standard domestic and international shipping carrier is USPS. 

When shipping each package, we like to include tracking information, signature confirmation, and full insurance for the value of the item. Please understand that choosing USPS International excludes the signature confirmation, however, the package will be fully insured. The Curio NYC is not responsible for the cost of duties and taxes on international orders. That responsibility falls solely on the purchaser. Each order is shipped within 5-10 business days.

If a client refuses the fees accrued by duties and taxes, the package will be sent back to our facility. We will then deduct returned duties as well as a 25% restocking fee from the client’s refund.

If a client misses their package, it is highly recommended that they contact the shipping carrier for support to retrieve it or set up a new delivery date. If your order is sent back to our office, it is the responsibility of the client to pay for reshipment. Once a package leaves our facility, The Curio NYC does not assume any responsibility for it. If a package is lost, stolen, or damaged, the client must file a claim with the shipping courier.

During holiday season some delays can be expected in receiving your orders. We are working hard with our jewelers to get your Curio Treasures into your hands as soon as possible.

Unique restrictions on shipping costs may apply for sale items, and special event purchases. We do not ship Partial.ly or PayPal layaway items until they are completely paid off.

Please note that jewelry alterations such as ring resizes will extend time until delivery. Please see the “Resizes and Alterations” Policy for estimated sizing and alteration turnaround times.

We encourage all customers to ensure that their correct shipping address is placed in their Shopify order, to ensure their order is not shipped to the wrong address. If a customer misses their package and it is sent back to us from the courier, the customer will be responsible for paying for another shipping label to re-ship the order with.

Layaway Policy

 The Curio welcomes layaway plans, where a client can pay for an item over time (ranging from several weeks to several months). 

New clients are limited to 3 Partial.ly layaway plans. Think of it as building your Curio Client VIP Profile. Once all 3 plans are paid off, the client may open up to 7 layaway plans at a time. 

 Layaways are conducted using Partial.ly, Afterpay, and Shop Pay. Please note that if the customer checks out with Partial.ly, they will not receive the item until the Partial.ly layaway plan is paid in full. All layaways require a fixed down payment. This down payment allows us to hold the piece for you. 

If you cancel your Partial.ly layaway after the down payment has been provided , or decide that you no longer want the item after receiving, you will be subject to a 25% restocking fee of the amount you’ve paid towards the item(s), with the remainder transferred to shop credit.

We understand that there are so many tempting pieces available! We encourage clients to make a definitive decision as to whether they want the item before they place the down payment. Regretfully, switching from one item to another will incur a 25% restocking fee. 

If a client stops making payments to their Partial.ly layaway plan, the plan will then default. Our team will make one attempt to contact the client in an effort to reopen the plan. If we do not hear from the client within 48 hours, or if a payment isn’t made in 48 hours, the item will be released back into The Curio, and all of the funds will be kept by The Curio.

Additionally, repeated cancellations, changes, and/or alterations to agreed upon purchases may result in restrictions on future purchases, as well as retaining any and all down payments per item.
