Topaz has a long history of importance and relevance in the world of historical jewelry. Birthstone of November, symbol of luxury topaz comes in many colors; perhaps the most desirable being imperial yellow to orange topaz. The 19th century fixated on Topaz as a choice gem for evening wear, especially, as its high refractive rate glimmered in candle light with such ease. This special example was perhaps once a brooch, now a ring, accents this interest in sparkle. The soft luster of the pearls offsets the outrageously bright shine of the topaz.
