Madame Butterfly; Signed Mellerio Butterfly Brooch Mint in the Original Box c. 1970
An outstanding, on of a kind Mellerio Butterfly brooch that was, according to our vendor, created for a famous Dior model who lived in the limelight of the Paris fashion scene of the 1970’s. It is an outstanding jewel with small details like golden splashes at the edge of each of the butterfly’s wings, with yellow sapphires down the back. The gold seems shimmer like sun spots the watery iridescent of the abalone wings. We fondly refer to her as Madame Butterfly!
