Simply opulent!
This elaborate 19th century French brooch is a pinnacle of Victorian craftspersonship and artistry. Crafted in sterling silver and a sweet 18 carat pink gold, this brooch possesses that je-ne-sais-quoi that simply stands out amongst the rest!
This brooch is lavishly decorated with 118 seed pearls of varying sizes, terminating in three dainty dangler drops at the base. The antique seed pearls on this piece are truly expectational, for they are a natural stone – which can be seen in the luminescent dappling and diverse shapes.
Seed pearl jewelry was often associated with purity and innocence, which made it the natural gift of choice for young brides. A brooch of this caliber could have certainly been the statement piece at a Victorian wedding – there is so much care and intention taken to every detail.
One exceptional detail is the hidden hinged bale at the top of the brooch, which adds an element of versatility to the wearer.
A perfect example of high fashion from the Victorian era, and a magical addition to any antique jewelry collection!
