My favorite genre of jewelry is and always will be food. Grapes are a frequent theme in 19th century jewelry, but rare to find so fully articulated as this. A magical pair of earrings, this duo depicts pearls set as dew drops and grapes, cascading forth from large grape leaves, with a curled vines that seems to form the top of the ear wire.

The construction of the leaves on the reverse is sensually rendered with convex swell. The symbolism of grapes as the food of life, the origin of lifeblood, as well as a religious meaning, could not be more beautifully presented. Weighing 6.06 grams as a pair, they would make a substantial addition to any earring collection.
