A very rare, sweet little Scallop Shell in Gilt Metal, this extremely special scallop is a present passed through the centuries into our hands today. Sentimental, often nude/neutral color jewels will occasionally surface from this short period at the turn of the 19th century, reminding us of the fascination with creating meaning within the menial. Apropos to the lover of shoreline finds, this gorgeous seashell was crafted from a superb Venetian glass shell, bezel set by hand in England, it was likely brought back from an Italian sojourn and set as such for a loving friend or dear one.

Condition: Minor associated age wear. There is a chip from the top of the piece, adding to the special charm of the jewel, it has been priced accordingly.
