This is gorgeous Middle Kingdom carnelian scarab is a fantastic example, set in a wonderfully lofted Victorian setting. A prized artifact from the height of Victorian Egyptomania, the scarab on this ring was likely unearthed from a tomb in the 19th century.
The setting of this ring is unique and masterfully rendered to allow the wearer (and viewer!) to appreciate the rarity of a 3,500 year old object from every angle. It is also invertible. The gold wire wrapping around the shank is a classic call back to rings of the ancient world.
A perfect find for any antique collector!
