There is nothing more romantic than wearing a reminder of someone you love close to your heart. For centuries, the locket has been a lady’s (and gent’s!) favorite accessory to do just that.
An incredible, perhaps German sterling and 9ct gold locket with exceptionally fanciful initials that attempt to form a winged, scaled creature, as they spell the initials I/E J/S I believe! Classic to the 1860's aesthetic of heavy gothic lettering, this reads an inscription of:
24 XII 27 a.
Materials and Features: sterling silver, 9ct
Age/Origin: German, c. 1860
Measurements: 8.25 grams 1.80”
Condition: Excellent condition. Minor associated age wear.
Please view and inspect any photos closely. We endeavor to fully disclose all condition information clearly and concisely, however, please note that what qualifies as excellent condition for historical jewelry differs from modern and contemporary pieces; please take the age of the piece into account when examining the piece. Minor age wear is typical and to be expected for antique and vintage jewelry.
