An outstanding late 18th, early 19th c portrait of a young man with a cravat in a navy jacket. This particularly wonderful portrait has a few exceptional features that earned him a beloved spot in my collection-- an enameled straight pin serves as the safety chain. An exceptional "E" can be found on the reverse. The gold tests as a solid 18ct; and is just outstanding.
