Elegant and sophisticated, this superb Archeological Revial chain is a rare example of 19th century American craftspersonship. Created circa 1875, this chain is set in 14 carat gold, and evokes a lovely Greco-Roman design with delicate hand-wrought links terminating into beautiful boules. This chain also features a pronounced dog-clip link and c-clasp.
There is some solder to the dog-clip link, but the dog clip/c-clasp connection at the back of this piece is truly special. This chain is adaptable in design, and certain to hold a lot of additions – whether supplementary chains for a layered look, or perhaps a pendant or locket for a statement piece. A wonderful addition to any antique jewelry collection!
