This charming 18ct and sterling silver Giardinetti brooch is a superb example of the early 20th century revival of the fine romantic revival of 18th century French garden jewelry. Encrusted with 52 diamonds in total, this piece speaks to the human fascination with the "undying flower" rendered in indelible materials such us sterling, gold, diamonds, and a luxurious ruby. The floral gemstone motif was embraced by houses such as, Buccelati, Cartier, and Bvlgari, but the finest jewelry couturiers of Paris, Boston, London, and New York all contributed to this beloved tradition. This example is likely English in origin, in a sumptuous 15ct yellow gold with sterling top. Not to mention the wonderful hook at the bottom, perfect for attaching fine drops and ojects, to enhance styling.
