In classical mythology, Cupid is the god of desire, erotic love, attraction, and affection. He is often portrayed as the son of the love goddess, Venus, and the god of war, Mars.
A diamond and pearl halo’d enamel of an extremely informal, Venus frolicking with Cupid. It is extremely rare to find such a rendering of two of Olympus’ tenants- I love the excitement of the swaths of fabric levitating around their bodies as they pirouette to a soundless song. Likely French, this pairing is pure magic.
