A darling and dainty archaeological revivalist piece!
Crafted circa 1875, this ruby and pearl cross ring is a wonderful example of the Byzantine revival design trends of the late 19th century. The construction of this piece is wonderful, with vibrant 15 carat gold crafted into a Gothic cross shape.
Along the surface of the cross are an array of vibrant miniature ruby stones, which coalesce together to create a deep, blood-red hue. The star of the show is the miniature pearl nestled in the center; its ivory glow juxtaposes well against the deep red of the rubies.
The center pearl, as well as the scrolling silhouette of this ruby cross, makes for a tiny but mighty 19th century jewel! A delightful addition to any collection!
