During the Victorian era, Persian turquoise , or “Pierre Turquoise”(Turkish stone) was highly en-vogue. Often imported from Turkey to England, this special stone was renowned for its vibrant robin’s egg blue hue.
This stunning 19th century cluster ring is a perfect example of iconic Victorian turquoise jewelry. Converted from an antique brooch, this ring features a lovely antique replica shank in 14 carat yellow gold – and a stunning array of vibrant pave set Persian turquoise cabochons arranged in a dome. In the center of this ring is a sweet surprise, as a lone miniature diamond glints out amidst the turquoise cluster.
The silhouette is a perfect mix of playful and elegant; the turquoise, in all its cerulean beauty, also creates a distinctly whimsical feel. For during the Victorian era, turquoise was believed to have the power to protect – as well as serve as a powerful symbol of tranquil energy and enduring love.
A wonderful antique treasure that you would no doubt be reaching for again and again!
