An outstanding pink enamel "en grisaille" ring from France, circa 1860. One of the finest examples of Napoleon III period craftspersonship, this ring is in near mint condition with a full set of hallmarks. The scene depicted shows cupid, contemplating the apple of Paris, or the fruit of discord. He clutches his bow in his left hand and smiles knowingly at the pomme, knowing that mischief is about to bloom! A sweet, romantic find for the classically inclined.
