Dated 1885, this exceptional medallion is one of the most peculiar religious medallions we’ve ever sourced, this truly remarkable sterling find is a sculpture into itself. I’ve only seen a few French Eucharist medallions featuring the quite so many new testiment symbols; the Agnus Dei at the bottom of the medallion (also known as the Lamb of God) sits below the Eucharist, as the vines of life curl around the central depiction of the Eucharist, emerging golden from the goblet. The attention to detail is wonderful. We simply never find them quite like this.
