A 14ct unicorn of a brooch, this MASSIVE piece features some of the finest details we look for in jewels of this period; invisibly set pearls, floral garland stations, and a MASSIVE bloodstone measuring over 38 cts! I am very excited to bring this rare piece to market.
Bloodstone had a long history of usage in crystal healing. Ancient magic considered the stone a sponge; injuries, wounds, of the mind and body turmoil, were all remedied by placing massive bloodstone slabs, like this, on the affected area of the body— the bloodstone would absorb the pain and hurt. When the bloodstone has done all that it could, according to the lore, the red spots would turn yellow or white, allowing the healer to know it was time to return the crystal to the land, so it may recharge by a spring or in the moonlight.
