A breathtaking Victorian treasure!

This is one of the most unique pieces we’ve had here at the Curio – and one of the most beautiful! Crafted circa 1890 in 9 carat gold and a sparkling, pearlescent amethyst, this High Victorian box is a fine example of an objet d’art. The English were huge fans of the French fascination with crafting fine small decorative pieces – such as boxes made entirely of crystal.

This rare amethyst jewel box is one such piece. It evokes a daydream of returning home from a fine ball, to pop open the darling ruby button and stash your diamond dinner ring within it. A remarkable and truly one of a kind piece.

And a wonderful addition to any antique jewelry or art history collection!
