Outstanding 1870's Aesthetic Movement 14ct Bangle

 One of the most spectacular Aesthetic Movement bracelets we've ever had, this exceptional bangle is definitive of the transition from the bulk of the 1860's, into the ease of the archaeological revival of the 1870's. I've never had another quite like this, with magical faceted balls, a starburst center, deliciously caned corners, and a fascinating juggling of geometry. What I find so compelling about this bracelet is the "tenting" that occurs at the face of the bracelet, wherein a very neoclassical bar is inserted into a pyramid-like structure at the top of the bracelet. This bar culminates in ball-like finials (pulling from the Medici crest in their presentation, even.) Another layer of the construction sees a rounded bar almost weave through the center of the bracelet, exposing a vertical version of the bar that is hidden under the pyramid below. The tie in with the textile arts in this is also notable- to observe this bracelet is to experience sewing in gold.

The next owner of this outstanding bracelet is lucky, indeed!
