This outstanding English seal set, enclosed and sent lovingly from the 1800’s in its original box, is truly transportive. The process of wax sealing, lighting the candle, setting your wax to melt, unlatching the small leather case, plucking the citrine handle from it’s slot and first feeling the cool sensation of the citrine, then the four carved tiers of ornamentation between your fingers, is a sensation many modern people will never experience. The fabulous 2.75in seal stick can be fitted with any of the six seals, each containing a different phrase to be aptly paired with the message of your letter. The six paste seals are simply delicious, each containing French expressions and two including a small images a well. Five of the seals have been lovingly translated into english on their reverse and the French phrases from left to right are:
Clear: "Panser a moi" - Think of me.
Black: Your friendship constitutes my happiness.
Yellow: An image of a man holding an umbrella with the phrase “Hope I don't intrude“ above his head.
Deep Purple : "Faites a Bien, Laisser Dive" - Do good, let them talk.
Yellow: Image of a rodent about to enter a trap, with “Prends Gaurd”; Take Care, written above.
Clear: “Panser aux suites” ; Consider the consequences. Note* this seal has a chip.
