In France, the Second Empire, led by Napoléon III and his Empress Eugénie, was influencing fashion with a revival of an elaborate, courtly lifestyle. Eugénie favored eighteenth-century fashion and had the Crown Jewels restyled à la Louis XVI.  

This stunning chain has medallions that stand out with their featherweight construction but are very widespread. They flash in the light, it’s a classical revival piece. This versatile chain is hand-etched and clasp-free, meant to be worn uniquely on its own without a pendant - until now! Clasp may be added upon request.
