Elegant and opulent!

This pair of Gilt Metal earrings are a stunning example of Victorian Gothic Revivalist design! The shape of these earrings is particularly unique: the dome-like shape is reminiscent of a Catholic Thurible, or the domed curves of a Cathedral.

The Gilt Metal is also notable, for it is finely engraved with the most intricate patterning: braided motifs and scrolling foliates. Set against the large pearl terminating at the bottom, the earrings almost look like miniature chandeliers for your ears! 

The presence of Garnet paste is another interesting detail on these earrings; the glass imitation of Garnet stone was a popular material for antique pieces, particularly those of the Georgian period. And indeed, there are some glimmers of Georgian influence marrying against the classic Victorian design style.

With their wonderful construction and excellent price point, these earrings would make a great starter piece for any antique connoisseur building a collection!
