French Belle Époque Diamond Cluster Ring | 4.88ctw | 2.24ct OEC Centre | 18ct & Platinum
This outrageous late Belle Époque French ring is supremely chunky — 18ct gold with a platinum top, weighing a whopping 8.16 grams, with a central stone of roughly 2.24 carats that she carries with the confidence of something considerably larger.
The central stone measures 7.5mm × 7.5mm × 5.25mm in a slightly cushiony cut — eye clean, VS/I1–I2 to be safe, and in a colour I'd place at L/M: significantly lighter than an O colour diamond I have on hand right now, and honestly could be an L. She is surrounded by six supporting diamonds of .30–.33ct each, with charming little 15-pointers on the band. The eagle head hallmark confirms her French origin without question. 4.88ctw total, size 7 — immaculate.
