A 33-inch French chain rendered in 18ct gold, composed of fluid figure-eight links that embody the sensuous line of the Art Nouveau period. The links create a continuous rhythm across the neckline—neither rigid nor overly delicate, but precisely balanced between the two.
It is this duality that defines the piece: strong enough to anchor a pendant of consequence, yet elegant enough to be worn alone; single or doubled. I am often asked what the most necessary piece within a jewelry wardrobe is, and I must always answer a chain, often in excess of 26” for double wrapping and brooch adding pleasure. This is an enduring example of turn-of-the-century French design.
