An extremely special 19th century brooch featuring a wonderful vermeille’d scene of a harvest’s bounty, this phenomenal heavily gilded brooch is a stand out among the jewels I brought back from france. With a nod to two of the most pivotal revivals of the 19th century, gothic (the color palate of many metals, the nearly medieval subject matter) and baroque (the roses! The frame! The pearl!) this brooch speaks to the beauty of the 19th century’s fascination with the past. I could not be more honored to bring her to market.
