Timeless and elegant!
Crafted circa 1810 in a wonderful 15 carat English gold, this Pink Topaz cross is a wonderful early example of archaeological revival. The late to early 19th centuries saw a renewed interest in classicism, and this cross beautifully displays that with each of its finely crafted elements.
The construction is impeccable, with an exquisite attention to detail. Adorned with pearls at each end, this cross features both a pin back and a locket behind the central topaz stone. The silhouette is elegant yet understated, and the pink topaz adds a glimmer of whimsy with its delicate hue.
Topaz crosses from this period were quite beloved, with many an example appearing in Jane Austen’s own personal collection!
A piece like this would be at home in any antique jewelry collection. Perfect for the art historian or antique connoisseur alike!
