If ever there were a ring designed to elongate a finger, it is the classic French navette — elegant, and irresistibly flattering. This sumptuous example from the late 19th century centers on five richly colored emeralds arranged in a graceful line, surrounded by a halo of glittering rose cut diamonds that shimmer with that unmistakable antique glow.
The ring is beautifully constructed in 18ct gold with a silver-topped setting, a traditional technique of the era that allowed diamonds to appear brighter and whiter against the cool-toned metal. Such navette rings were immensely fashionable during the Napoleon III period.
This particular beauty bears the French eagle hallmark for 18ct gold. One of the end emeralds shows a small nip to the side — something our jeweler can polish upon request should the future owner desire.
