Belle Époque Platinum-Topped 18ct OEC Diamond Rivière | 33.12ctw 46 Stones | 16"
A longer, more generous expression of the Belle Époque style — a platinum-topped rivière that would make a remarkable playmate for your Belle Époque jewels to form a suite for your finest formal occasions, or finest t-shirt stacks. Forty-six Old European cut diamonds of .48–.51ct each, totalling 33.12 carats, in a platinum-topped 18ct gold mount that gives each stone the bright white, floating setting the period celebrated — the settings done with wonderful hand-crimped collets.
The design of this rivière speaks to two eras: not only does it recall the Belle Époque, but it looks to the great Belle Époque inspiration — the end of the 18th century, with the collet setting. This rivière steps away from that direct reference with the use of platinum. Platinum in the 1890s was often fused with 18ct yellow gold to create that true all-white expression of metal that would become a defining feature of the Deco period to come.
