A stunning, rare Victorian bangle circa 1890, we are so excited to offer this beautiful bangle with her three knife edges and loftily set diamonds, featuring a central cerise surprise.
Gorgeously rendered with an impresive amount of pink 14ct gold, we have attributed this bracelet to Russian origin. While unmarked with the 56 zolotniks mark, the construction is unmistakably similar to the work of Moscow jewelers such as Christian Thorstenson, who were creating similar pieces for wealthy members of the Russian aristocracy during the period this bracelet was created. I've included another example of his work in the image index-- particularly examine the prong settings around the larger stones, they are very similar to the ones on this lovely bracelet.
A wonderful, heavy example that will be trasured in whatever collection it joins.
