Watch keys were often decorative pieces that also served as pendants or fobs, and are still appreciated for their designs as wearable pieces of jewelry, though they are usually not used for their original winding purpose in the modern day.
A very rare 9k watch key, this English example depicts a fanciful lover’s knot, topped with a substantial Amber bead! Baltic amber of this quality was highly prized in the early 19th century. This raw honey color specimen is likely 40-50 million years old!
