This is one of our most stunning and rare finds – an absolutely romantic Austro-Hungarian hair ornament from the 19th century. Antique hair ornaments are known for their striking design, but this particular adornment glitters with artistry and the most beautiful gemstones.

Crafted circa 1870 in a sterling gold gild, this hair ornament features a cluster of sweet miniature rubies at the base, leading up to a sweet bouquet at the top. Dotted within the bejeweled bouquet are two miniature sapphire gems and two luminescent pearl gems. The design feels very reminiscent of the Italian “giardinetti” (little garden) design made so popular during Victorian era Europe.

This pin already holds a striking silhouette, but upon closer look, one discovers there is a spot to input a feather should one choose too, adding an extra dose of dramatic flair to the glamour!
