Archaeological Revival Wedgewood Cameo Brooch of the Charles X Period C. 1830
An outstanding Charles X Period 18ct French jewel that pulls playfully at the thread of trompe l'oeil imagery which was so very popular during the Burbone restauration. Zoom in on the wedgewood; appreciate the four depicted men bending supplicant at the feet of an enthroned goddess. Tri-color gold blooms flower around the ornate vase that frames our wedgewood scene; I have coveted this brooch in my collection for years, and I’m finally ready to part with her! Grumpily!!
