American archaeological revival jewels can be subtle; but to know them is to love them. This wonderful, exceptionally yellow 14ct chain is a beautiful example of the classic late 19th century interpretation of this fashion, by the American hand. A wonderful, harder and harder to find 32" example, this chain with a lovely C clasp, and hefty links will be the star of any Archaeological revival chain wardrobe. Its a great shape of chain, and with over 26 grams of gold, it is not shy in to hold up to serious rivieres, or even sterling collars in shape and presence for all manner of neck-stack-play.
I've included an image of an ancient roman fibula brooch, for comparative appreciation; the links of these chains are based on the shape of the Roman fibula, meant to interlock with their many boules. It is a special chain for the historically inclined.
The perfect treasure for any art historian or antique collector!
