Pointed at both ends with equally curved sides, the term navette shape usually refers to the contour or outline of a gemstone, such as a marquise-shaped cabochon, rather than a faceted gemstone.
Featuring a gorgeous natural emerald cross, this special navette features a fascinating intersection of gothic (cross/shape/pearls) aesthetic with a neoclassical (reeded band/ionic detail) finish, that was quite classic to Napoleon III period jewels. Circa 1860, French attributed as the hallmark has perhaps been sized out.
