This superb 1860’s dinner collar is above and beyond, featuring exceptional design ellements from the third empire which foreshadowed the art nouveau era. What I find so immaculate about this French jewel is the scale- usually, necklaces from this period are much smaller in scale- but this huge example truly wows the viewer with her heft and luminous pearls that seem to grow as fruit from the golden leaves.
