A very special 14k locket featuring a diamond in the center star. The reverse says "From Papa," so this was likely a gift from a father or grandfather to a son or grandson. The reverse also boasts a large "G" on the center, which is also known as a Freemason symbol.
The most well-known Freemason symbol, “The Square and Compasses,” which is the one shown on the reverse of this piece, depicts a builder's square joined by a compass. Masons were originally working men who were supposed to be as busy as bees, which would allow us to assume "Papa" or the receiver of his thoughtful gift was a Mason at the time.
