Ask any enthusiastic gemologist about their favorite shades of green; they will inevitably bring up Nephrite. A noble stone with millennia of history, the first nephrite is believed to have been mined in the Khotan region of Central Asia, with excavation records dating back to the 6th millennia BCE, having been carved as early as the Neolithic period, to form ritualistic objects. Such a hard stone, specimens of Jade could not be shaped with metal tools, and were, instead, abraded, with cord and sand to carve even intricate shapes with the hard surfaces.
Thousands of years later, Jade is eternally beloved by a hungry collectors market. Herein, a gorgeous conversion ring sets a central Nephrite cabochon center stage. This 14 karat white gold ring top features a saturated, mossy green cabochon, amid twelve sparkling diamonds. Formerly an earring, now a ring, this wonderful conversion piece boasts a fine 14ct white gold shank.
