A wonderful true and original Victorian pink hardstone double cameo.

What’s so wonderful about this matched brooch set is that the top cameo is right facing, while the bottom cameo is left facing. Including a beautiful brooch fitting at the back as well as a fold down bale at the top, this example has that element of Etruscan, Archaeological Revival, to even Gothic Revival elements: you will see the geometric crosses on the hanging elements, the beaded caning that decorates the interior channels, as well as halos on the tops of the pieces and the delicate braid that sits around each of the central medallions. This is a very particular, special colorway for hardstone cameos, as pink is the most feminine and most desirable.
