An exceptional shell cameo circa 1850. With a remarkable three dimensionality, this one-of-a-kind brooch represents the allegorical adage 'To The Victor Go the Spoils.' In excellent condition, a wonderful amount of gold was used overall, with a full circlet at the back. Notable features include three central figures, two horses, a completely carved, nearly three dimensional chariot, and a fully rendered castle behind the unfolding scene.
