Regal and delightful!
Crafted circa 1780 in 14 carat gold, this pair of Rose Cut Diamond Crowned Heart Earrings are a fine Georgian example! Featuring beautiful construction, the silhouette of these earrings are so feminine and whimsical. The crowned heart is especially notable, as this design motif flourished during the Rococo and Victorian periods.
By combining the heart — a symbol of love and emotion — with the crown, a symbol of authority and the divine, crowned heart jewelry represented a balance of affection, loyalty, and higher ideals. And these earrings certainly succeed in displaying these sentiments.
These earrings also boast a wonderful, star-like drop at the bottom. With the star-studded halo around these central elements, we would be hard pressed to find a better example!
A lovely antique treasure for the art historian and antique connoisseur alike!
