An onyx locket of massive scale, this French beauty is a textbook example of the excellence of 19th century floral language and sentimentality. Shaped into a marvelous, perfect black chalcedony oval, this locket is decorated with pearls and diamonds which create a most remarkable, sentimental bouquet of flowers! Beginning with les mugets (or Lilies of the Valley,) a traditional French herald of spring- gifted to those you love on May 1st, the bouquet blooms with two rose cut diamond petal'd roses (pictured below is the Rosa Chinensis 'Mutabilis’, or Rose of China) and a forget-me-not in pearl! But I will admit my favorite is the white tulip! A typical symbol of new beginnings, early spring, and impending delight!
This piece has the original bale, with pearls inset, and a lovely glass locket at the back to preserve your most sentimental artifacts of those you treasure.
