A showstopping adornment, unlike any other!
One of the rarest of our scarabs, this striking blue Amazonite piece stands apart from her peers; not only for her positively vibrant cerulean color, but for her size and the unique inscription on the reverse of the ring.
Unlike the other scarabs in this collection, which lack hieroglyphics, this one bears a carved inscription with clear Greek influence – perhaps in the shape of an anchor? – suggesting an overture to sea fairing. The lotus flowers adorned along the shoulders also provide a whimsical touch!
Clearly a beloved adornment since its construction in the 19th century, this late Victorian Egyptian Revival Scarab is a wonderful addition to any antique jewelry collection!
