Zeus was not only the king of the Grecian Pantheon— he was the reigning royal mascot of the 19th century cameo pantheon. A particularly virile depiction with a curling beard and steadfast expression, I love this rare cameo set within a beautiful octogonal pool of black enamel. With a rounded reverse, this immaculate cameo makes a wonderful addition to any ring stack. Carved of shell, perhaps converted from a stick pin or button.
