A gorgeous and sentimental Victorian treasure!

This 19th century mourning ring is absolutely remarkable. Crafted in a beautiful 18 carat gold, this ring is hallmarked as having originated in London, 1872. At first glance, the design seems understated and classic – though a closer look reveals a sentimental surprise. Along the exterior of the ring is the inscription “in memory of”, and in the middle is a beautiful, foiled rose-cut diamond that glimmers in the light. How curious!

These details are particularly notable because the band never appears to have had a hair locket, or an inscription. Therefore, the memorialized individual of this ring would have only been known to the wearer. A mystery to others, and a special, intimate secret to the beholder. Beautiful!

Between its stunning construction and clear sentimental value, this ring would be a magnificent addition to any antique jewelry collection. Perfect for the antique connoisseur and art historian alike!
