A rare and entirely original Edwardian ring of exceptional rarity — a moonstone rosette of massive scale. Thirty-six rose cut diamonds form a dramatic double halo around a 3+ carat moonstone cabochon that glows with the elusive grey Schiller only the finest quality 19th century moonstones exhibit.
The spread of this stone on the hand is extraordinary — rosettes of this scale are almost always brooch conversions, but this one has always been a ring (how can we tell? Extensive examination of the construction reveals... nothing untoward! It has always been a ring.) We believe the moonstone to be entirely original to the setting, measuring a sizable 13.48mm × 10.20mm to the best of our ability without removing it from the mount. In every light, all 36 rose cuts glimmer.
Set in a combination of 15ct pink gold and sterling silver — with 1.15 carats total weight of rose cut diamonds. This one speaks for herself; if you are a large-scale-jewelry lover, you found your moonstone statement.
