A sumptuous violet pear! This 15ct gold pendant features a foil-backed, 20 carat (estimated) amethyst framed by a half wreathe of rose-cut diamonds. This amethyst is a natural marvel; with undertones of orchid, lavender, and dusty rose, the foil turns her into a star. A diamond-set bail and an original working locket back complete the piece, which likely dates to around 1870. The color glows like the last light of day, especially when worn against the skin. The locket back is exceptionally rare in this condition, suggesting it was both cherished, and enjoyed.
