The Arts and Crafts jewelry period spans four decades beginning in 1880 and running through 1920, beginning in direct opposition to the time period's exploding decadence and the industrialization sweeping across the United States and Great Britain as the turn of the century approached.

Contrarian to the dripping opulence of the mid 19th century, arts and crafts work deeply influenced both the Deco era and the works of Frank Lloyd Wright with its shocking lines and relation to nature.
