A very rare cufflink to ring conversion of a beautifully reverse painted glass intaglio of a Chestnut Bay with her ebony mane and scarlet bridle. With a perfect square face with a greek key patterned band in a size 9.5, a certain darkness to the horse’s expression keeps the viewer affixed, wondering what exactly the relation of the original owner to the rendered beast might have been. I love the sleek design and the mixing of antique and vintage styles; the band is a copy of a 1970’s band, and fits so nicely with the geometric finish of the essex.
In excellent condition, the crystal maintains a golden ground for the horse to inhabit, with black vignetted corners and heavy golden bezel.
